Hello

Looking for some ideas and inspiration for filling up the empty aircon slot on my z3. The aircon slot is the slightly larger button on the centre console panel. I have the rear demister there at the moment but think that will end up going back to the rear slots.

I’ve bought a double usb c slot from a g20 era bmw. Oem plus mod. But this fits in the small slots where the heated seat switches or asc might be.

Anyone got some mods they have done or seen anything interesting. Brownie points for anything bmw oem from across the generations.

I’d like aircon but as a retrofit, it’s quite complicated, lots of different parts needed.

Haven’t seen any write ups on it either.
Try it only if you have another donor car. It can be done with single parts but makes no finacial sense.

3 litre Z3 pretending to be Italian exotica. Two previous E89 Z4s.
How about an a/c and recirc button, so you can impress the ladies without all the work of actually putting it all in?
I have a button you can have, as I have disconnected my a/c.

PS as a 40 year a/c and fridge engineer; I would advise against retrofitting a/c in a car. I did it once for someone a long time ago when cars were much simpler. Note I only did it once, I would NEVER do it again.

It wouldn't be too difficult to fit, dash would need to come out.

You could use Realoem to cross check all the items needed.

retrofit is very much out of the question. But @Pond , an unconnected button for aesthetics is a potential.

My thinking is more usb ports, volt meter, parking distance control but needs to be something useful.
