So June this year will be the 3rd anniversary of my ownership so thought that it was more than overdue to start a progress thread.

It all began in June 22 after some negotiations with Garrie ( @RickyBobby ) i purchased a RickyBobby #12
A 1999 2.8 tu Orinoco edition.

I had seen a couple of Orinoco for sale and seen one at Zedfest really liked the colour and spec so when the opportunity arose to own a rare 2.8 Orinoco i jumped at the chance.

So with the help of Stevie ( @Scooblitz ) we headed from Ayrshire to Sheffield to collect it sun was out so it was roof down and off up the road so just around 30 mikes into journey odometer turned over to 71k .
First picture of my ownership was at Scotch corner

So back home great drive back home
Sun was out do first drive out with Lynne.

So i had already decided early on that anything i was doing to this zed would have to be complimentary as this is a factory issued individual model and already rare and has a better than average spec.
Comes with high back Walknappa cream heated seats with green piping , aircon, clear lense lights , exterior chrome pack 16" style 42 limited edition Orinoco green pearlescent paint that could not be ordered on any other zed bar this factory issued individual production run.
This zed had had a number of refresh work carried out already
New subframe and trailing arm bushes and new springs all round and new front shocks along with decent ( not perfect but decent) bodywork was a good starting point for a keeper.

Lynne had started the trend of naming all our zeds this time the name was obvious and easy being an Orinoco edition the only name had to be Womble.
Which then led to the purchase of a travel mascot.

A couple of weeks into ownership the Scottish Summer weather highlighted the first urgent repair.

So investigation soon revealed the issue the triangle bungs in the top of the seals both split so bit of bonding later water leak sorted.

First mod was gear shift as original one damaged on top and i had this one so off with original and on with wooden one

Next up was number plate lamp, boot lamp, interior lamp and front sidelight rid of rubbish incandescent bulbs for some nice bright white cree led bulbs

This was followed fairly quickly by some Phillips silver vision indicator bulbs give a fresher look to the clear lense by removing the orange hue.

A month or so into owning Womble got use of some staggered 17" style 42.
Got to say the 2.8 feels and handles so much better on the wider 245 rear tyres

Last bit for this first part was the seats which i thought were a kind of beige colour after started to clean them realised actually more of a cream colour
( seats spec unique to the car )
Looked pretty decent after all done abd finished with some Autoglym products.

Drivers seat needs some additional repair work with plans in pipeline to carry out but not too bad condition in the meantime.

So time for the next installment to try get this progress thread up to date.

So after got it and had driven it a few weeks even though a lot of suspension work had been done prior to me buying it some glaring ommission that needed to be fixed very little at rear .
Had already had rear subframe, trailer arm bushes arb bushes and drop links and new springs but not new shocks
So got 2 rear Sachs shocks and Meyle top mounts ( no picture)
Front had new springs shocks and top mounts fitted front arb bushes look good but changed drop links

Also changed front arm rear bushes to solid rubber ones as i like the sharper front end that they give.

Next was some cosmetic upgrades Womble still has original dealership plates and keyring which was but aged by chance lucked upon an brand new one on ebay

I had been saying to Stevie ( @Scooblitz ) that i didn't really like the black centre console as everything else pretty much beige or cream so he helped in sourcing the various bits for the wood trim conversion

At around the same time i had a wheel change again
Factory wheels are 16" style 42 nice enough wheel but bit lairy with the narrower rear tyre on the 2.8 so i had been running Stevie's 17" staggered style 42 but he needed them back so a set of style 18 came up cheap do bought them initially as a stop gap but quite like them so they are still on

Next on the list was the slowly but surely disintegrating aerial grommet
