Expired Maf intake hose

Just been for a drive to drop the car off at the garage and it ram very lumpy.
Suspicions of maf hose split confirmed immediately.

Anyone have one they can send me or know the best replacement pattern one on eBay for 15quid but don't know the quality.

Secondhand is a bit of a false economy. They usually show signs of deterioration. And they aren’t cheap usually. Around £15 against £25 new from BMW.

I bought a 3.0 part from d2pautoparts10 on eBay. It’s okay but was a tight fit to keep properly in place. But then I don’t know a new BMW one wouldn’t be the same.

The lower hose is only £15 from BMW anyway. You should check that too.

You can also bodge up the leak with some black silicone sealant. That’s a good temporary repair if the hole isn’t too big.

Black tape does a reasonable quick repair and then contact Sopers bmw for a replacement. Cheap enough for a genuine part.

Yep that’s a gonner. I would definitely check the lower (throttle body) hose too if the top one is so knackered. People often say they are a b*gger to get off and on but there is 1 place where the screwdriver fits just fine and that's good enough.

Might be a good idea just to get all new hoses while I'm throwing money away then I don't need to wait for them to rip

I've just bought the 2 new hoses and new clips all round for £47 from BMW. My car failed it's emissions on a split on the lower hose. Avoid rubber products on eBay, usually made of low quality Indian rubber, won't be long before they split again.

I recently replaced the lower hose Robert, found it easy to take the main hose off, and replace them as one piece

I have bought Febi intake hoses in the past and no troubles. The ones from the dealer I put 3/4 years ago were toast last time I looked, maybe my engine bay is too hot.

I have no idea about the lower one but if you have a part number that would be a big help

Chenged mine for an eBay one think it was £10 fitted OK.... Sealed my old one up with tiger seal and it worked but get a new one

You've got to be careful as the part number is wrong on realoem for 2.2s at least. It's best to look on the old part in this instance.

If you go to bmw. You need to ask for the one for the 5 series bmw. As that’s what we found when looking.

Top hose is correct for one of them. Just never bothered changing it. Seems like hassle.

Bottom one is the one they give you if you ask for the 2.2 one. It’s wrong
