Rebody GRP to steel adhesive?

I need to think about which adhesive to use to bond my GRP body to the car/ brackets.
I am aware of Tigerseal and Sikaflex. Are there any other products recommended, such as Gorillaweld etc?

I bolted the boot extension to the back of the car but also a seam of PU18 to seal it.

Everything else will just be bolted.

Looks like PU18 is similar to Tigerseal and Sikaflex; ie a polyurethane flexible adhesive/ sealant.

The California kit is bonded to the bracketry virtually everywhere (from what I have seen so far anyway)!

There are various adhesives developed specifically to bond composites to steel/metals. Called Construction Adhesives, they’re twin component materials and they’re absolutely brilliant at what they do. Easy Composites and East Coast Fibreglass both stock various types and sizes.
However . . I wouldn’t use them to bond a body on, with the different rates of expansion it would be exposed to, not to mention the vibration, I’d be happier with a polyurethane such as the the above. Helluva lot cheaper too.

So are you saying Tigerseal or Sikaflex is the way to go?

I would say so, I’ve used Permabond to joint metal and composite. It’s not coming apart. Ever. But, it’s completely rigid, even the semi flexible Permabond is near solid. I’ve bonded lots of car stuff with PU, it has more give than Permabond, properly prepped it’s a serious job getting it apart again.
Permabond and the like are £50 odd per 400 ml, PU £5 something for 400ml cartridge, both plus vat. And you need a specialised gun for Permabond.
